Welcome to Little Acorns

We are located in a semi-rural setting, in the heart of the village of Shireoaks, Nottinghamshire. The building was purpose built with lottery funding. We offer an all-weather outdoor area, with artificial grass and a soft surface playground.

Our pre-school is run by parents and we are a registered charity, so any money made goes back into the Pre-school. This also enables us to keep our fees as low as possible. We actively support charities and take part in local events within the village, such as Shireoaks Carnival.playquote

We firmly believe that children learn best through play.  Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the greatest way by which young children learn to think.  We provide a full range of child-led play activities, where the children make their own decisions.

Everyone who walks through our doors are treated as individuals; we embrace every child and their family. We are proud of our warm and friendly atmosphere. We believe that you can only tell if something is right for your child, by coming in and visiting us, speaking to the staff and getting the chance to see our Pre-school in action.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Compared to his previous nursery, Little Acorns, has a lot going on in different areas and he is are encouraged to go and explore. I think the whole set up is fantastic.
It is a really friendly and fun environment for my daughter, who after a tearful start loves going and talks a lot at home of ‘Acorns is fun’.
The setting provides a good start to a child’s education. The staff provide an exciting child centred environment.
My children adore the nursery and the staff, they do wonderful activities, very friendly and welcoming. My two daughters never want to leave.
Taking children for registration helps settle unsettled children into a routine. Flexible pick up times helps when other children at other schools.
My child is extremely happy and has learnt so much. Tapestry is great to keep up to date with her performance.
